i thought i had a pro w/ u-joints...check and change, noise still there...checked and changed axle bearings, noise still there...took a part the t-case...new bearings and such, noise still there...had a tranny guy listen to it...he said it couldn't be coming form the tranny...now i only here it ounce i reach about 30mph+...it only changes w/ speed and not rpm...if i let off the gas...it goes away...it sounds almost like a bearing rattle and coming from the central of the jeep...i have taken the front drive shaft out and still here it...take out the rear and don't here it...no performance has been lost and the sound came after a hr drive sate for about 45 minutes and poof i here when i start driving again...any ideas??? |

Rear diff maybe? Gears starting to whine? I had a bent rear axle on a Suburban once that acted that way too. Or bent rim? Slightly bent wont necessarily be out of balance enough for noticeable vibration, but noise will be present. |
