Ok so bear with me on this one, the tech guys should know what I am talking about.
Fact: I got Koni front shocks, 3 of them in a very good deal.
Problem: 2 of them are used, one of them is new. Of the used ones 1 of them is making a very funny clunking noise so I don't want to use that one.
Problem 2: the new one is not the same as the used one...Koni puts it's faith in a sortof piston ring clip to hold the lower spring support plate, which seems kinda flimsy to me. I guess they counted on the clevis to hold the thing in place. Now on the new one I can get their intention, the clevis rests against the lower support plate and thats it (in the pic shock 2).
But the old one has a much bigger lower rim so the clevis doesn't rest against the support plate?
What do I do? Fit the old one (shock 1) on the left so I have a minimal clevis lift to level battery weight or do I grind a bit out of the clevis so it sits just like the opsite side against the lower spring support???
Sorry, no real pics, but here is a drawing.
