When I was in California I heard of a couple people having there gas tanks drained
They would siphon the tank via the cap or a couple of unlucky people got a hole drilled into the bottom
of there tank to drain the gas out

Didnt think of doing anything at the point except adding a locking gas cap
but what i didnt think of is the extra protection that a fuel tank skid offers
to not only protect from rocks but drills and gas theifs as well

Just a thought
I was reading on another forum about gas being stolen out of tanks at school campus and shopping mall parking lots

Screw the locking gas cap: rig up a 12ga. shell to go off if the fuel door is opened without authorization..

I keep my 5 gallon gas can filled on my bumper and rotate it in every so often. I figure thieves will take the path of least resistance and putting diesel into their gasser will serve up it's own justice. I do have armor and drilling through the skid will unleash the fury of offroad trips past.

haha, that would be great if they stole your diesel and used it! Talk about pay back! Heck, it would be worth it to carry a can of diesel on the back of my 3.7 jeep just to let someone steal it and ruin their gasser!
