ha ha i knew someone would say that. well the temp dropped from 45-25 in about an hour. i dont have the slots that the front of the tranny skid goes in. |

My Skidrow uses the rear two from the front skid and two on the trans crossmember.Man I just reinstalled mine today and bot is that thing bent up!!!!!!!!As well as the stock front one but the transfer is just scratched up a bit. |

i have the same skid, i broke off those two little "ears" on the front, they pissed me off lol. yea, uses back 2 bolts of the front engine skid, front 2 bolts of the rear transfer-case skid in the front: the tranny-skid goes BETWEEN the front engine skid and the crossmember in the rear, in order: transfer case crossmember then transfer case skid then lowest is the tranny skid, i drilled all the way through the transfer case crossmember and use longer bolts, nuts and washers. i used small steel spacers inbetween the transfer-case skid and the tranny-skid, ill take pics tomorrow for you |

I would like to see these pictures too because I also have a 2002 liberty. If I can secure them well, I would like the mopar skids because they're cheap and I don't run MOAB. |

Notice he has a manual tranny-----His pic of that skid is EXACTLY the look of mine which covers up a 545RFE. Possibly his crossmember is a bit different too? |

this is makin me so mad because this should be the easiest thing to do for my jeep. i now have a job doing security for a security company and i leave the bank around 5:30 pm. i want to try to get it back and work on it before it gets cold and dark again. i need to see a picture of how it goes on because im lost |

TOM, i didnt need the spacers, but just the way the perimeter lips were on both the mopar transfer case skid and tranny skid, i used a flat spacer so the lips werent touching, hard to explain. i didnt need to drill the holes either, but my nutzerts brroke when i unbolted the transfer case skid, so i just drilled up through the other side of the crossmember and put a long bolt through it, instead of dealing with another nutzert, stronger this way too, in my opinion |

We need a picture of the tranny cross member before we can tell you how to get it on. You will need to bend those two ears up or break them off. If the manual tranny on the 04 kj uses the same cross member as the 42rle you will need to drill two holes in the tranny cross member. The front of the skid gets sandwiched between the engine cross member and the engine skid. If you do not have an engine skid then only one hole will line up on the front. Youve got to remember, this skid is meant for a 2005+ kj. 
I purchased bolts for the tranny cross member. I believe I ended up getting grade 8 1/4inx2.5in. Its been a long time though so that may be wrong. |

jeep jeepsters must be different, my crossmember bolts to the body with 4 bolts per side instead of 3. and my transfercase and tranny skid go on with the same 2 bolts through the same holes on the crossmember. i didnt have to make any new holes, i just drilled straight up through where the nutzerts were so i could use a longer bolt and washer/nut |
