does the daystar top plate itself gain any lift, or is the daystar lift a new top plate, as well as a coil spacer?

Here is the Daystar top plate that came with my old kit:

They are upsidedown in the picture. The strut nut sits inside the 'cup' part so I'd say that it adds to your lift.

so a small amount, but the "adverstised lift" comes from the spacer

maybe should post that pic of the springs with spacers in the lift section, or sticky this or something, thats the first time ive seen the springs assembled with spacer in comparasson to one without on the forum, i may have missed it though, either way would be a great addition to the lift info

btw 501, are you using a daystar 2.5" lift paired with 1.5" OME springs? instead of the 3/4" poly spacer used in the frankenlift?

No I took off the Daystar, put OME HD's with the Daystar top plate and a 2 ring Clevis in front and the OME HD's and 1 extra ISO in the rear.

If I was listening correctly when I was over in Ohio, RAYMAN975 has them on his rig.

rule of thumb if you use a 1/4 inch spacer you get 1/2 inch of lift , whatever you use on the front to lift it is doubled

this is interesting

JSC, I shouldn't bother fitting those rings, you need to take the topplate of again so compress the springs again etc. Compressing the spring more is not going to improve your ride quality, believe me...been there.

Fit some 1/4 Rusty plates on top of the strut. Done.

And:

501's pic has been added to the lift FAQ.:D
