Post subject: | JBA UCA's limit travel |
I installed my JBA UCA's last Fall without clearancing the pockets. (Didn't realize I had to at the time . . .) Have the clanging problem when dropping into holes, etc. Received some nice advice from fellow members on how to clearance them on another post. However, I was thinking about this issue in relation to the CV damage some others are reporting with the Frankenlift. I have zero damage to my CV's or boots so far, but I was wondering if not clearancing the UCA's may actually save the CV's in the sense that the pocket interference effectively limits the downward travel of the suspension and so keeps the CV's within their safe operating range. This would also apply to the issue of keeping the front sway bar connected, or using sway bar disconnects as others are doing. I guess this mostly applies to those who don't have the machined CV's. Any thoughts on this? David |

I cut mine out and have no problems, think of the pressure you are putting on the arms each time they hit the frame, almost creating a titter/totter effect due to it hitting 2 inches out from the mounting point don't think thats causing any problems, as some even with stock arms are ahving problems at times |

Yeah. Those hits can't be good over time. I'm planning on clearancing mine regardless. |
