Go with the OME meduim F/R coils and you'll gain about 1"-1.5" of lift and will be able to run 245/75R16's on the stock rims with issues.Might as well get new F/R shocks also,Rancho or OME makes good ones(OME just more $$$).Your looking at $700 for everything, not real cheap but you will be amazed at the ride, better then stock ever was.And at least you know it will last a long time and have lifetime warranty on the parts as long as no spacers are added.
Thanks much, that's what I needed. I am currently running 245/60-16 Firestone Destination ATs on TJ Rubicon wheels. The fender wells are cleaned up, pinch weld folded. I don't rub with the firestones but I did get some rubbing when I had the Goodyear MT/R 245/65-16s on it. I am happy with the tires and size on it now. The MT/Rs were too much tire without changing gearing. I don't want to get so much lift that I run into the UCA, CV issues etc.
I'm happy enough with my current setup that I'd go with factory springs and shocks as replacements but I've noticed with all the frost heaving this Winter that the suspension is at it's limits trying to keep the heavy KJ from bottoming out over the big ruts and bumps. This time of year the roads change from one day to the next so it's hard to avoid bashing through some of these spots. Would heavy duty springs be too stiff for the gasser KJ?
I don't really even have a lift on my KJ now but the springs, spacers and 245/60s make it sit quite a bit higher than 03/up KJs, quite noticeable when parked side by side. Thanks again, this will go into the Jeep budget soon.
