Post subject:  Rear Isolator question

When doing a lift why is the rear upper isolator and not the lower recommended to add that extra 1/2 inch?

Not sure what the reason is but I can tell you that the lowers cost around $25 and the uppers around $15.

Do not add one on bottom. The spring doesn't sit right on the coil perch with 2.

THIS WILL GET IT STARTED AND THE FLAMING AS WELL
Cause thats funny, mines has had two on the bottom for 70,000 miles and no problems its what I had laying around and used them. Not sure why some are having problems, :? :? :?

The coil sits too high to sit correctly on the coil perch on my axle with 2 pads. Not sure why yours fits. There is no way mine would work. The ony thing holding the coil on the bottom would be the bumpstop if I were to stick 2 pads under there. :?

I wonder if the coil perch is deeper on earlier models. As mine sits right now the top of the lowest coil in the spring is higher than the retaining part of the coil perch. So if I added another one the coil would sit above the retaining part of the perch and I don't wanna see what happens with that setup.
