| Post subject: | D30a carrier break |
Does the D30a 3.55 use the same carrier as the 3.73/4.10 in the other D30a's? I BELIEVE it does, but does anyone reading this know for sure? Maybe they chose to say "3.55" specifically to differentiate from the "3.54" using the other carrier in the older D30's??? The classic carrier break on the D30 is 3.73-higher and 3.54-lower. So where does the 3.55 fit in, for sure, is my question. It fits neither category. On one hand just using 1 factory carrier in the D30a makes sense meaning it may be the same as the 3.73, but on the other hand it is almost identical to the 3.54 number. BUT: Why did they choose 3.55 to make it stand out from the 3.54 instead of calling it a 3.54? They have fudged one number for decades ( 4.09/4.10, for example), so calling it the 3.54 for simplicity would have been no problem. WHY 3.55 & where does it fit? |

i'm not sure.... but it is cheaper (if going to 4.10 or 3.73's) just to buy a front diff rather than swapping out the gears... so the issue above isnt a real concern for me atleast. now if you wanted to add a DTT to the front with 3.55's i'm not sure what you would do... good question haha |
