I don't know if this has been covered yet, but jeepin by al has a 12" lift kit for the liberty on there website, in development. HOW the F are they going to accomplish that?!? Its states it's going to use a cradle drop, My guess is they're basing it off the old rock crawler kit. But to my knowledge that was garbage. however 12"!!! thats bigger than most SFA libby's.

Description:
JBA Work in Progress!!
JBA is working on this 12in lift. 8 inch K frame drop and a 4 inch spring lift. This kit allows fitment of 33-inch-diameter tires (with a maximum backspacing of 5.25 inches for 12.5-inch-wide tires), which helps create 11.5 inches of ground clearance. 35-inch tires can be fitted with fender trimming.

Highlights of the front end of the kit include massive subframes that allow reuse of the stock lower A-arms, JBA upper A-arms, and JBA custom strut.

Highlights of the rear of the kit include a adjustable triangulated four-link conversion, competition-proven weld-in rear cradle, long-arm mounting brackets, and adjustable lower control arms.

Do you want to be on the list to get a release notifacation? send a email to AlsBig12inch@jeepinbyal.com

Still couldn't run bigger then a 32" tire and still wheel it since you will still have the D30A and the lowest gear ratio is still 4.10's.

be kind of like some of the Dodge pickups around here , must be 3 foot between the top of the tire and the fender.

Kind of a waste to me and asking why???

35's on a D30A!!! 33's I would be interested in, 35's I think would be suicide for the diff.

I would be all for it if I could run 35" and re-gear to something better than 4.10 your still gonna have crappy gas mileage, maybe a 33" but I dont think I would trust the D30a to hold

also for that ammount of money, you could be almost 1/2 way to having something solid up front.

I see another mall cruiser kit coming along, even with deeper gears for the front D30A I would still not trust it with 33/35s

so your saying that is what the front side of the link arm attaches to? the rear side being the axle.

Still wouldn't run a 33" tire on a alloy diff not made to handle the stress of offroading or big tires(33"+).

So with guys like ohv_kj who did a SAS for around $7k [exempting the first shop he went to.], why doesn't a company like JBA look at making a fair priced solid axle kit. I mean, create a kit thats mostly bolt on where the only thing you have to do is find a front axle that will work and only have some minor cutting and welding. Make something that the average diy guy can accomplish ya know!

Not everyone can spend 30 g's on a axle swap. Having a kit that for around 4-7 thousand and allow someone to put a choice axle up front and have 10" of lift i think would sell like hotcakes on saturday morning.

That would make the most sense and be a viable product. A 12" lift for the sake of 12" lift with no way of getting bigger tires makes absolutely no sense. If you're going to offer a 12" lift AND the parts needed to turn 33"+ tires and no ESP issues on the newer KJ's for $4900, it's gonna sell.... I might even buy one.

Otherwise, it's like the 6" kit...... boobs on a bull.

I love to see them making things for the kj but has their other kits sold good enough for them to go in that far and make a 12" lift? Just hate to see them do that then not sell any or the kit be a failure. :?

..I dunno.. Im a little worried about what 'information' would get sent to me from that email address.

Seriously though.. This 12" lift looks like it might be interesting (not that I would buy it, but there are a lot of hurdles to overcome as have been mentioned) Jeeping By Al seems to have a pretty good reputation, so I cant imagine they would cut corners, or bring a poorly engineered kit to market.

Wait.. Is it April 1st??
