Yes it is taller. right at a 1/2" to 1 inch...because of the top plate instead of the factory top plate. later...Clint |

i know i'm kind of bringing this post back from the dead...but that essentially means that the Frankenlift is more or less a 3 or 3.5" lift??? |

I wonder why All-J dosen't call it a 3"? Wouldn't that help them sell more? |

IIRC, it's because the 2.5" lift was designed for the 2002 Pre-Lowered KJ. Since anyone with a late 02 or later would have lowered springs, you then end up with a net height of 3-3.5" more. |

I've had my frankenlift on for quite a while and have even done some pretty hard wheeling with it. It still seems that the front is higher than the back...would it cause issues if i were to add 3/4" spacers in the rear? I was thinking about maybe jacking it up to a 4" lift, doesn't seem like it would be too hard to do. Just some rear spacers and MAYBE a clevis boost... |

Hmmm...did you give Quinn a call? It seems like all the kits that are initially very high also settle quickly and most end up with good results after a few weeks. |

settle what is going to settle the springs. how much can a spring settle 1/2 inch maybe 1 inch after 6 months. |

Seems to work for most. USAFCOP was sitting about 4" higher after he installed it. Just beat on that sucker (rocks, flexing) and it will go down. Everything needs to be seated correctly, springs break in, etc. Did you buy it from Quinn? Edit: From reading your posts it looks like you bought individual parts (some of which aren't components of the Frankenlift) and put this together yourself?.? In all fairness, don't go saying that the "Frankenlift" doesn't work when that's not exactly what you're running. If you had bought the pre-assembled kit from All Js I know you'd have plenty of tech support and things might be different. |

The Frankenlift uses Rancho struts up front and the same in the rear. You have an entirely different animal than the "normal" Frankenlift most of us have. You have OME springs, shocks, and struts with the Daystar strut plate. The only thing you have similar to the normal Frankenlift is the front OME springs and the Daystar strut plate. There was probably no way your KJ would end up with what others' do running their regular Frankenlifts, sold to many, particular in Cali, by All-J Products. This is only because of the different parts you ordered. Most people who have the Frankenlift love it. It's probably just your OME strut or the different OME springs. When you start changing parts, anything can happen. |
