I go out with some guys whose rigs consist of Hummer, Hummer 2 and Hummer 3's. They have undercarriage protection that protects the frame and the rear control arms. Does anyone know if there is any type of protection to protect the frame rails and the rear arms, specifically under where the arm bolts on, because I bang and have bent the metal around that area.

"specifically under where the arm bolts on"

I have seen someone weld some flat steel accross that area, pretty much making mini skids. I'll see if I can find some pics when I get home and post them. I was thinking about doing this myself since I have been hung up there before.

That looks like a good idea, I bent mine and had to straighten them back out.

I'm pretty sure that was Rubigade. I plan on doing the same mod to mine this weekend. Mine is bent up fairly badly. ANOTHER point of interest if you are reinforcing is the rear shock mount. I've seen one of those torn completely off and it bent the shock piston around the axle at about a 20 degree angle. I plan on welding some reinforcement around that while I am under there.

Yeh, that looks like what I was thinking. How thick is that sheet metal and where could I get metal like that? I was thinking of diamond plating the frame rails underneath, any feedback on that?
