What is a realistic roll over angle for a stock 4x4 KJ?

Hi,

I had my inclinometer in my stock KJ renegade. I was in a area of small pebbles - almost sand and had to traverse a small hill side. My inclinometer pegged at 30 degrees of sideways tilt. The Jeep felt stable and solid.

Once I got to level ground I went back to see how much i slid sideways with the stock all terrain tires. I slipped about 6 inches and I didn't really feel it.

Now that my KJ is lifted with Goodyear 245 /75 MTR tires on it, I have had it at 30 degrees tilt. So I suspect it can go quite a bit more than that stock.

The big thing is when you are tilted like that momentum is important. Be careful not to hit any big bumps or do any sudden accelerations or stops.

Have a lot of fun but be careful and be safe!

Keep in mind there are all kinds of factors that will change this by tons. Be very careful and always use good judgement over any kind of guage. Good judgement is always the best gauge you can use. Hope that helps. Later...Clint

wouldn't a lift hurt your rollover angle as it raises your center of gravity? even with better tires I would expect the rollover angle to drop a bit from a lift. The only way to help is to widen your track with either new wheels with less backspacing or or wheel spacers.
