What exactly are the differences between these 2 lifts? They both seem to consist of OME parts. The only thing I can see different is the rear shocks and possibly springs in the Rockfather are not OME, and are Rocky Road made. I'm curious, since the Rockfather is a bit cheaper, and seems like it may be a good option. |

you would think so but you would be sadly mistaken. The Franekenlift will use OME HD all around whereas the Rocky-whatever will use OME in the front and then their own rear springs, which only come in one spring rate which is the same as OEM and they tend to have very poor customer service, you if you are on very many Jeep forums you will see MANY threads about how bad their customer service is and not to buy from them. I would highly recommend buying the Frankenlift from Boulderbars, who is even a supporter of LOST KJs and has a WAY batter customer service and track record. |

This was talked about in the last few days.... RRO has horrible customer service. Other than that, they both use similar main pieces. |

Go with Frankenlift from boulder bars, Heather is very friendly and great customer help, I just bought an ARB bumper from them. |

Thanks for the help. I know there are a lot of lift topics, but I couldn't find one that specifically discussed the differences. I knew that it was basically the rear that was different, but wasn't sure what was what. Knowing the spring rate difference is useful to me. By the way, jsc7002, I'm from Vancouver, BC. It would be nice if there was a way to get lifts up here conveniently, but there isn't, so I'm looking to get one shipped up. Piecing together an all OME kit is not really an option, as the parts are really expensive in Canada, and shipping is killer on a bunch of parts. 1 large package is way better. |

When I first started looking at the available lift kits for our KJ, I sent emails to the vendors and asked various questions about them. Everybody replied except for Rocky Road outfitters. At first I figured that my request didn't reach them, but even after a few more attempts, I never received a reply! Wow I thought! Must be true what fellow KJ owners have said about poor customer service! If a company cannot even be bothered to reply to a potential customer then screw 'em, They obviously don't want or need my business and money! The other thing I wasn't to impressed with was the fact that they think that their poo doesn't stink and that their products are the best in the world and when I did receive a reply about what they sell and the difference between their Crock-father and a Frankenlift, the guy was just plain rude, unprofessional, and derogatory towards All J Products. Now, as far as comparing the two lifts. Sure, RRO is a bit less expensive, uses "their" own rear coil springs and "Under the top" bla bla bla, and you can order a lift kit with "their" (Read rip off and duplicated) front upper control arms. At the end of the day I'm sure it's a good lift kit. Maybe their products are better than their customer service skills! For that reason I went with a Frankenlift with Rancho shocks and struts and Al's upper A arms.[/u][/url][/code] |
