Post subject:  Powertrax review after only 3 days

Ok, I put my Powertrax in (Open Diff) Monday night.. we've (my wife and I) have put about 60 miles on it so far. Immediately after putting it in I went and did some figure 8s in a parking lot. With every direction change it would clank.. nothing severe but dfinetely noticeable. Now, after a couple of days I did it again.. Amazingly there is barely any noticeable noise! I'm extremely impressed. My wife can't even tell its there. I ran a few test trying to force it to act up.. hard acceleration in a turn does infact cause some understeer and if I go from a stop to a quick hard left or right the innner tire does chirp, but that's all to be expected.

Basically what I"m saying is I"m extremely impressed with this unit and I'm glad I didn't spend the $1500 on an ARB (though that would still be very nice at some point in the future).

Great review hoss75. Did you install the original Powertrax Lock-Right or their newer No-Slip which I think is about $100 more?

Cool! Now you gotta test it 4x4ing :)

I hope to get mine in the next month or two. Another good response so looks like I am leaning towards Powertrax.

I installed the No-slip.. from my understanding the Lock-Right isn't near as forgiving on road.

Post subject:  Yes spend the extra money

Believe me you will not be saving anything by using he LockRite...Pay the extra bucks and get the No Slip... HUGE difference between the 2. Later...Clint

It will have moments when it is very noticeble (out of no-where). Just remind your wife to be carefull when taking off right or left from a stop  under hard acceleration or when its wet. And the clunk it will make ain't hurtin nuthin.

NOBODY hates this device more than I, It makes so much diff off road that I have learned to live with it.

Good luck

Again...spend the extra bucks and use the No Slip... you should see what a Lock Right does in a stick. When my daughter drives the Toyota it wants to go sideways with every shift with the Lock Right. later...Clint
