I bought a rear tow hook off eBay, but it didn't come with any of the correct hardware. It came with the brackets, just not the bolts and screws and such. Can anyone tell me what all I need? And maybe some instructions on the installation. Thanks.

So do I just roll up into a Home Depot and get three M12 X 1.75 X40 bolts?

If you want to do right you'll need to get grade 8 hardware look for an ace hardware store and go from there

That's what I wanted to do but I got my hook for $11 on eBay...couldn't argue with that!

Yeah get grade 8 hardware...check hardware stores you should be able to find it. Like was recommended in that link, if your threads have been corroded, get a tap and die set and chase the threads. Otheriwse you'll never get the bolts in there.

So three of the M12 X 1.75 X40 bolts, and make sure they are 'Grade 8'. Doesn't sound too bad. There's 4 holes on the hardware, is the big one just there for kicks?

I plan on doing practically EVERYTHING to my Jeep in a few weeks, most likely all on the same day, or almost all of it on the same day. That includes lift, tires/wheels, tow hooks, and skids. As of now I'm clueless about most of this stuff, so I appologize for the dumb questions.

you won't find "grade 8" in metric but 10.9 or 12.9 is equivalent or stronger than grade 8

Haha okay now, 10.9 or 12.9 is a grading system?
