Thanks, Hood! This is my first driveshaft issue as this is my first 4wd vehicle. All my Oldsmobiles going back to my first...a 1984 bought in 87 or so...have been front wheel drive. Budke...what did you go with to replace your front drive shaft on the Jeep? |

I've had it for a couple weeks. Works great. Nicely balanced, haven't had any problems with it in 4wd. I have no complaints. |

Thats what I went with. Tommudd went with the same thing as well. Your was a stock replacement shaft. I'm on my 2nd one already. I will be replacing with tom woods when money allows. The TW shaft has U joint instead of CV joints which commonly fail on those OEM shafts. |

I fiqure the stock one lasted 125,000 miles so if this one makes it another 50 to 75,000 we'll be good! |

I'm only at 63 or 64K so I'm not 100% so on OEM style but it is a bit cheaper |

I would hit up your local driveline shop and see if you can get that pancake joint replaced. I got mine replaced for <$200. It will last a lot longer too! |

Not sure if you guys saw this post I made about my Napa Front Drive haft but here is the link with a picture of it. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=51677 It was kinda expensive, but has a 3 or 4 year warrenty, and doent have the CV joints. The shaft was $400 something, but that is all I had a choice of since they were all on back order. |
