 Post subject: franklin lift help

i just got the franklin lift only the springs and the front hardware. i see the front new strut plates do not come with the studs to bolt in. all js told me i can use the studs from my stock strut plates. does anyone know if these studs will bang out easy.

yep if you are just buying the parts and doing it your self you use your own studs. That is one advantage of buying their kit...The front strut is one complete unit. Hope that helps. later...Clint

but do you know if the studs will bang out easy. sometimes studs dont bang out easy the way they are pressed in with such force.

They do not bang out easy. I tried for a couple minutes before heading to the hardware store...

skyjump what did you use if you use nuts and bolts the bolt head will hit the rubber big time.

They slide right in next to the isolator. I think there were a couple that were snug against the rubber, but it doesn't affect anything.

When All J's sends the whole assembly they actually weld the bolt heads to the top plate...they definitely fit.

I has several of my bolts spot welded. One of the Daystar top plate holes was too large, and several of the bolts were not as tight as we wanted. Two spot welds on each one did the trick.
