So I've been letting my wife drive the Renegade lately (it hurts, almost had to post in the former KJ owner section  ) and I got back in it yesterday and heard a strange sound from the right rear wheel well.

It is sort of a tapping sound that seems to be coming from outside of the KJ. I've sat back in the back and searched for anything while she was driving around and couldn't find anything. Everytime we hit a bump, I'd get the tapping sound.

Any ideas? Tighten up the shock? Nothing obvious hanging down or around the wheel well. I'll have to take a better look at it with the wheel off, but it is driving me nuts! I've had the Frankenlift on for almost a year now.

When I installed my Rancho rear shocks I though I got them pretty snug. Howerever one kept making a tap tap. I just tighted them up a bit more (15mm I believe) and all was good. It was actually the upper mount that was a little loose.

Yeah, what Eddo said...

Tighten the rear shocks.

Later,
J

Do you have reciever hitch with the hitch plugged in ? That will do it. That coupled with the no-slip will drive ya insane.

Worked like a charm- tightened it up a touch and no noise.
