I am going to put in the Powertrax noslip in the rear. I want to add a rock ring to diff while I am at it. My question is, doe's the front diff need one? I know its the d30A, will the metal be too soft to warrant one? Thanks. Strika |

IFS components protect it. There is no point to having one. |

O.K. that makes sense, since I haven't read here about anyone putting them on the front. Thanks for the info. Strika |

Thanks bighause, It's always good to hear feedback on new toys. You know you read and read, but it really comes down to real world use. Strika |

The entire front suspension is protected by a skid plate if you have it. Pic.

don't all KJ's have the suspension skid? I have yet to see one without but all we get is the 4x4's at the dealers |

mine didn't come with any skids which in away is good cause I now have all j's superskid II but I did order the rest of them from the dealer guess it all depends on your dealer or location maybe |

mine only came with the front suspension skid, no off road group, no tow package, no leather, no evic, nothing fancy except the sound system, selec-trac, the paint (I <3 salsa red metallic), and power everything. I wouldn't mind having the offroad group (would have saved quite a bit on tow hooks) or the tow package (better cooling) |

For some reason the Rocky Mountain edition didn't come with any protection underneath. As soon as I get back to the states they will be my first purchases. |

Suggestion: Install the Powertrax first, let the liquid gasket set for a week, and THEN install the rock ring. Trying to hold the diff cover and the rock ring in place without slopping the liquid gasket around is a bear. |

Troysterr, thanks for that tip. My 05 Renegade also didn't come with skids. I have since put them on. I am ordering the noslip from RRO, but with it being the middle of winter here, I was thinking of having one of the local 4x4 shops install it. The average cost was 200 to 250, ouch! Anyway, thanks again. Strika. |
