Post subject:  low thumping noise on deceleration

Hi,
I have a 2006 liberty lifted with OME HD all round. Just recently there has been a low thumping noise that I only notice on deceleration. It is not all the time but I do hear it only on deceleration. It is a thumping noise that sounds like either a suspension or drivetrain thump. The dealer thinks it is normal drive train noise, however as it has only just started, I know that is not the case. It sounds like it is coming from the front of the jeep. Anyone have any ideas what this might be?
Thanks

Check the rear boot on the front drive shaft. When mine went out that was when I heard the noise.

I have checked the boot but it looks good.
The front boot on the front driveshaft does seem to be covered in a thin coat of oil. And the front diff in general also has a thin coating of oil on it. What am I looking for specifically? A tear in the boot? Play in the joint?
Thanks

Whats the rear boot look like ? Mine was almost gone when I checked it. Really looked like there was never one on it. Was fine 4000 miles before
