Kj Boulders Bars 05 - need hole on the kj?

Hi

The dealer install the lift on my kj.
Now he go to install the all JP boulders bars.
But the holes bars does not correspond to the holes kj.

It check the bills, its normally the 05 boulders bars.
he'll ask and check again with the importer.

I bought my kj on september 05 - its built on march 05

Its necessary to do holes on the KJ?

Yes I think it is pretty necessary to drill some holes for the boulder bars. I know I had to for my 03.

All of the holes to mount up the Bars will need to be drilled. Did you get the template for drilling the pinch weld holes? If you have any more questions, I would highly suggest you call All J Products and ask them.

There are 36 holes (give or take) that need to be drilled for the All J Boulder Bars. Can you take a picture of the bars you received?

The KJ Boulder Bars take 17 holes per side. The template included in the box shows the placement of the holes that need to be drilled. The bars are LEFT and RIGHT dependent. (The right bar will only fit on the passenger side and the left bar will only fit on the driver side.) Also make sure the template is not used backward (reversed).

I spoke with the importer of your Boulder Bars -- they just called. I explained this information to them but wanted to also post here so you would get the information directly from us.

I went to the shop friday and i think we have all
We have lots of screws (i ask tomorrow if the number its fine)
We have to 2 thin and long templates where is writing front on both
And we have the 2 bars

If the company that fix the bars need more answer, we'll do no hesitate

Hi everybody !

I'm the man who have the mission to transform a cool standard KJ to one of the most efficient Jeep of our litlle but muddy country, I mean France !

We have nearly all the informations for the boulder bars, but I've got a doubt on a detail...

I've got a lot of bolts, but no nuts (I hope the words are right !)

But when I would have drill all the holes, how can I fix the bars without nuts ? :cry:

I hope I' m clear and you can help me !

you could go to a local hardware store to buy the nuts

You should have nuts for the outside holes you drill in the rocker panel lip - however for the frame the nuts are self tapping - if you drill the correct size hole they thread into the frame. All-J's sell the drill bit ( size F .257" it's SAE, not metric so I suspect you would have difficulty finding it in France)

Hi again,
We are wondering if you are talking about the self-threading bolts that go into the frame that do not have nuts. These self-threading bolts do not need nuts...however, I want to make sure you have everything you need since Plein Air, Inc. was your dealer and may have misplaced some hardware in the shipping process to France.

You should have received the following hardware:

20 - thread rollers
14 - 1.5" long 1/4 20 Bolts
14 - 1/4 20 Lock NUTS

This is what you should have received in the box. If you did not recieve this hardware, please check with Plein Air and see if they still have it. Your Boulder Bars were given to them with all of the hardware in the box (They actually sent a worker to our shop in Colton, CA and picked up your bars personally).

If they say they do not still have the hardware, we can ship you another set of the hardware. We will not charge you for the cost of the hardware, but we would have to charge for the shipping cost to France. ALSO, you will need an F bit. If the installing shop does not have an F bit, please let us know that and we'll send that along too.
