Anyone have a Daystar 2.5" spacer lift with 245 75 R16s

Post subject:  Anyone have a Daystar 2.5" spacer lift with 245 75 R16s
I am wanting to do a 2.5" lift and go to 245 75 R16 tires. Will there have to be any mods made to prevent rubbing with this configuration? Also, is there a better 2.5 lift for my KJ? My 2003 Liberty Sport 4x4 is all stock now.

Maybe if you have the money go with a coil over lift...tons more flex and it uses non-OME parts. I'd look into either the Rusty's, Skyjacker, or Frankenlift, all of which are coil overs, and all of which the majority of people on this forum run on their KJs. I personally have the 2.5" Skyjacker coils and love it! Shop around... 8)

O and I forgot to mention...to the best of my knowledge there is no moddin necessary if you will be runnin 245 75 16s with a 2.5" lift, but I do not know for sure because I have 265 75 16s and I had to do a lot of fender hackin. I am almost positive that there is no cuttin necessary with 245s but not 100% sure. Ask around... 8)

For a lowered KJ:
Best bang for the buck: Rusty's (replace Rusty's shocks w/ Rancho's--no matter what the salesperson at Rusty's says).
Best lift if you can afford it: Frankenlift.
If you're pre-lowered (build date before April 2, 2002?), the RRO Combo works great. Just add new Ranchos all around.

Re: Rubbing, it will depend on the tire. Less aggressive tires like Revos will not rub enough to worry about (although you'll probably end up cutting a little bit of plastic after a while). Tires with aggressive treads, like MT/Rs, or a wide, square tread, like BFG T/A KOs, will rub more, and may require more trimming.

Yes, it is only my opinion...but it comes from over 2 years of prowling the boards, and is based on the experience of the KJ West guys, who are the ONLY ones I know of that have tested the majority of the lift kits out there (and helped design the Frankenlift).

Even so, a lot of people have had success with a lot of different lifts. Wheel it if you got it. 8)

Don't you mean non-OEM parts? OME (Old Man Emu) makes a goot lift. :wink:

Here here...I agree, not trying to cause a debate or anything. I'm not raggin the Franken just thought he should know of all the other options as well 8)

I have an 05 renny with 245/75s w/o a lift.. and there is little rubbing.. but monday im puttin a 2.5" lift on there

235/75/16 came on 02
245/70/16 without lift
265/75/16 with Dayster lift and Major fender well work

03 Freedom, 2.5" Daystar, Rancho RSX's, stock springs, 245/75/16 MTR's. Pounded the pinch weld, I get some rubbing at full turn on the sway bar and fog light doors. Nothing too bad, just don't turn all the way. :wink:
