I had the same issue. I am no pro when it comes to isolating problems but does it only do it while turning?

If it does it when your at full turn or close to full turn (Very bad to do this on dry or close to dry pavement) then it is your wheels "hopping". I am pretty sure that when you turn in the wrong enviroment (without heavy snow, mud, etc...) your wheels hop.

When your in 4WD your front wheels spin at the same speed. Therefore when you turn left your left wheel spins at the same speed as your right front wheel. But your right front wheel has a longer distance to travel than your left front wheel. They do rotate at the exact same speed. So while your left front wheel is turning so gracefully your right front is trying to catch up over a longer distance. It gives that jumping, rubbing feel. It does it only in 4x4. It just started doing it. it's been pretty icy here so the front wheels can 'slip'. It almost sounds like when a wheel rubs against the plastic trim. I have no mud guards. and clearance has never been an issue. It doesn't make the noise at all in 2 wheel. Should I be worried? Thanks.

In part time 4wd the F/R driveshafts are forced to turn at the same speed,the L/R wheels on either the front of rear axle(without any locker or LSD) can and will spin different speeds when turning.The binding comes from the F/R driveshafts forced to turn at the same speed but the front diff is ever so slightly geared differently so the front wheels spin a bit faster then the rear and that causes binding.

it was doing it from the right side while turing right. However, now it's not anymore. That worries me more now...

Was there ice built up in the wheel wells? Might have just been rubbing the tires on ice. Might also have water in something you don't want it in. Checked your CV boots for holes/cracks?

Checked your CV boots for holes/cracks? It could have been ice buildup. I am going on vacation in a couple weeks and I will be able to spend some quality time with some maintenence with my Jeep. Need to change my transfer case fluids and probably the rear shocks too.
