Monday evening I was making my way through snow and ice covered roads when several dash lights illuminated on my '06 Liberty. They were "ESP, ABS, and the trac control lights" My manual says that they would reset after 3-4 driving cycles which they did. After a few more miles they illuminated again. I took it to a Jeep dealer who found code C1027...(L.R. wheel speed sensor). The tech checked the wheel sensor but found it to be working properly. I probably would have just had them replace it ($125.87) but they didnt have one in stock. Just wondering if anybody has had a similar experience?
Dean

Voltage issues will cause these power hogs to turn off , illumimating the warning lights. These same lights came on a few times like that before the battery in my wife's G. Caravan took a crap. "Testing" on the road showed that the traction control was indeed off.

I wonder if you got enough snow on the belt to cause a little slippage, making the alternator less effecient?

Thanks for the response Incommando. It's still malfunctioning after sitting in my heated garage...I think I'll check wiring to the EBCM though...I hadn't thought of that.

Update:
The Jeep dealer found code C1027 in the EBCM
I replaced the left rear wheel speed sensor myself ($13.00) at my local Jeep dealer. I have tried everything to clear the code. Still getting ESP, ABS and trac control lights. I disconnected the Batt for an hour, started and stopped 3 times in a row etc. GRRR the lights come on as soon as I start the engine. I'll probably replace the right sensor and see what happens. Is there anything else I can do to reset the 'puter??

If i remember correctly, scantools like what autozone and what not have are unable to access ABS systems, you'd need the 1-2k skamolio model that the dealers use

Yea, My Actron scan tool wont read it. I have replaced both rear wheel speed sensors and still get all 3 lights on all the time. I think I'll start checking wiring... Does anybody know where I could access a wiring schematic for the ABS, ESP system online?
Thanks for the replys

the field service manual for your specific model has it, pretty sure you can find it through google and either download or buy it in a PDF format which makes it easier to find things sometimes
