Finally getting around to putting the mopar skids on. Is this something a guy can do in a driveway with basic tools? Any of them harder then the others? What ones use those darn nutzerts? All the install times listed (except for the gas tank, which I think is the easiest anyway, say 1/2 hour). Might be easier just pay the stealership to do the hard one(s).

I know this has probably been answered a million times, but I couldn't an exact answer via search.

typically the answer is yes, easy to do in the driveway

sometimes have to use some penetrating fluid and chase the threads that have been boogered up from a bit of rust over time with no bolt in them if the nut-zerts are already there

figuring out how the heck the nut-zert tool worked was the hardest thing for me but i only had to do that because i stripped the zert that was already installed

My crd came with the front skid. I purchased the trans, tcase and fuel tank. The riv nuts they supply are easy to install (2 for trans skid, and 4 for tcase). I spent about one hour installing all three. If you have a lift, you can install the tcase and trans skids on the ground. The gas tank skid was i little harder because of the hitch - and doing it by myself. I would consider these parts very very easy to install.

X2. A floor jack definitely helps if doing it by yourself. Good luck, and have fun

The MOPAR engine skid is much thicker that what's already there on the CRD...... but still not very strong.
