Just so I'm real clear before I order wheels/Tires. I'm going to run Rancho 9000xl shocks/Struts, and OME springs (927/948) along with a 3/8" Top Spacer. I've got extra spring ISO's for the rear 1 upper set and 1 lower should I put both sets in? Also anyone have the link to Smashing the Pinch welds? I want to run 31x10.5's on 15x7 Cragar Soft 8's is this going to work?

sounds like you have the shock/coil figured out as well as the top spacer, should you require a slight bit more lift the clevis is easy enough to fiddle with

now rear iso's

extra iso on the bottom is iffy, there's typically very little down there to retain more than the standard 1 iso, however Tommudd has ran multiple extra lower isos with no problem but that may simply be his particular kj / year or simply luck

i run 3 total upper isos on the rear and a single lower isos with no issues of retention

i personally would either replace the lower iso's with the new ones and get an additional set of uppers, or, return the lowers and get another set of uppers

the pinch weld is easy, take a cutting tool (i used the sprocket looking dremel cutting wheel, not the paper kind they just break) and cut a square out of the fender liner around the pinch weld then used my truck hammer (it's a short handled 3 or 4 lb hammer to knock the pinch weld over towards the center of the vehicle

the hard part is getting it to initially start to bend over, once it starts to pound over it goes over fairly easily and i only pounded over the lower half ( below the squarish looking section that is filled with a foamish type insulation )

once it was pounded over on both sides, i tucked two wedges of wood in the fender liner, and sprayed liberal amounts of rubberized undercoating on the pinch and under the fender liner

thats the extent that my pinch got at the moment, i did get a few pieces of step flashing from lowes which i will flatten out and rivet over the hole at some point

the tire question i'll leave to someone else

I was wondering about covering the holes caused by the pinch Mod but yeah now that I think about it I have 10ft of rolled aluminum around somewhere good Idea.

yup, that should do it, rivet it in while pushing the fender flare and liner towards the center of the vehicle, once in place shoot a coat of flat black or undercoating across it and should be good as gold

Or on the pinch weld cut a V in the inner fender and heat it up bending it out of the way, ( by the way heating up the plastic with a heat gun you can cut it real easy, like warm butter) but cut it, bend over the pinch weld then melt the piece back down over

I got away with running lowers since I have the bumpstops ( two hockey pucks per side) in there ( as you should as well) They can't go anywhere as the bumpstops/springs will keep them right there

What backspacing on the wheels are you using ?
4 inch backspacing and a 7 inch wide wheel seems to work good

lol yea, i tried the whole cut and heat gun thing with mine, the fender liner plastic had gotten too brittle and just broke right off in pieces, thus going with the patch and rivets :P

and some of us didn't do the pinch weld mod till the tires had worn the plastic through in some places and others were about paper thin :P

Yeah Tomm I'm looking at the 15x7's. Hockey pucks are something I also have. over a year of researching this forum and saving cash to buy parts has led me in the correct direction. I had spacers that never went in at one point. as far as I can tell my current plan of OME's and Rancho 9000xl's is the best for me and what I want to do.
