Where haven't you been able to find soft 8's in 16x7? Jegs, Summit, Quadratec, 4wd.com, etc... 15's can fit with the right BS. IIRC 3.75" or 4" is what is required. |

IMHO,best thing about Franky is it is ready to install out of the box, save some coin, you can do OME springs, shocks, conduit nuts be as high,2-3 hundo cheaper. |

Franky is a good lift & easiest install. 15" rims mean you will probably want to go 31x10.5 or 32x9.5 max. Easiest fit is 245/75/16 on stock rims, it seems. 265/70/16 is also a popular size. 235/85/16 is probably the easiest way to get max tire height w/o a ton of troubles A cheaper dual-purpose tire is the Goodyear Authority from Walmart. The Goodyear Duratrac is gaining favor. If you want to go cheaper, the General AT2 is popular as is the Dayton Timberline A/T2. MT/R's are pricey, but all of the premium tires are that way. If you spent that 20 minutes in the tires section, you already know all of this, though.... |

I've been tossing on MT/R 245/75/16's on an '02 w/ 2.5" lift and they're as big as I'd go. There's a body weld joint in the rear of the wheelwell covered with the plastic fender liner that you'll contact at some point and break it open. You can grind the plastic back to gain just a bit of clearance, but the body seam is still there. Others have cut that seam off or hammered it back, but it's something you can avoid with not getting overly zealous with rubber size. I forgot the backspacing for the wheels, but can look it up from my summit order (if it even keeps tabs from that long ago). Off the top of my head, it was 4.5" (bolt spacing) x 4.5" (Backspacing). I went with the Micky Thompson Classic II's which weren't too expensive. I just don't like the center caps 'cause they rusted way too quickly. Nothing should rust in SoCal that quick. (Nope, no order history. I have the receipt at home and will check tomorrow) |
