You mean to tell me that if your Liberty has the Select Track it's a 242 and if you have the Command Track it's a 231. All this time I just though the Liberty had a different transfer case in general. I was underneath the KJ and noticed the metal seal in the rear of my transfer case read "231 J." I looked under my TJ and it read the same. So I did a search for "SYE." You mean to tell me I can get the cheaper 231 SYE? I've owned 2 XJs, and now I own a 1997 TJ, 2004 KJ and 2002 WJ (wife's). I've always opted for the Command Track (apparently the 231) in my Jeeps. I figured it was cheaper and it would get better gas mileage. I guess I never gave it much thought.
