Somewhere, while perusing the forums, I think I saw a picture of a spare tire mount used for a shovel and axe. It may have been a bike rack, but I'm not sure. Looked like the perfect place to get them mounted low and out of the way. Anybody else seen this and know what it was? |

This is a HMMWV pioneer kit. They attach to the rear bottom side of the vehicle. I drilled two wheel lug sized holes in the rack and mounted it through the spares wheel lugs with some really long bolts and I used a strap on the top to keep it from vibrating. I don't have any pictures of how it was mounted and lately I have been lazy and just mounted it with motorcycle straps. I really don't know where you can pick one up. Maybe a government auction. I procured several of these racks in pretty bad condition from DRMO and had this one sand blasted and then just rattle canned it. I also mount a bow saw to it some times. Here is a pic of each mounting. Lazy way  right way
