After installing a lift (I'll be putting in Rusty's coil kit), should you have an alignment done right then, or after a waiting 200-300 miles to allow everything to "settle" (maybe at the same time you're checking/retightening bolts)? Some people have suggested right away, but others seem to have waited to have it done then... |

I am 1500 miles post lift, still haven't had an alignment, tires hopefully in a few weeks, probably do it then. My KJ actually tracks straighter now then before the lift, tire wear I don't know, yet but doesn't look to be wearing uneven. |

id recommend waiting 200-300 miles after you get your lift, just to make sure nothing is loose and so it can settle....i was told by the 4x4 shop (John's 4x4) to drive 250 miles and then bring it back and we'll double check everything |

I waited about 300 miles before I had mine alignment. As long as it doesn't pull after you have the lift installed I would wait. |

I'm no expert, I just installed the lift last weekend, and I couldn't get the tie rods to turn out 1 rotation like I was told to do, so I drove like 125 miles or so, but it was steering terribly and you could tell that the tires were WAY away from where they should have been. SO I hit a couple bumpy roads, and then took it in today to have the allignment done. However, I switched to new, larger tires the day I installed the lift, which probably amplified the problem. Wait about 2-3 weeks. Do not wait too long though. Your tires will wear out wrong and they will look bad......unless you want to wear out your stock tires really fast in the wrong places so you can upgrade. |
