I was just on Skyjackers site and It looks like the soft ride front springs are Black. The set I bought used are red. Anyone know if these are the heavier ones like troy was running? Anyone know what the lb. rating is on either set? |

softrides are stock ratio in the front, 310ish, but in the rear reported to be 10lbs heavier than OME948's, i honestly don't think there's a heck of a lot of difference on rear coils between softrides (JBA25's) OME948's or BDS rear coils front, ignoring inclusion of steel bumpers and such, it's pretty much a bubblegum issue, some like watermelon, some like grape, some like it to ride soft, some like it stiffer since the softrides are advertised 2.5", ome is adv. 1.5, without steel they'll probably settle to about the same level, just keep the steel off it and it should be fine for the moderate long run only other note is many of us are fairly concerned that the stock ratio coils on the KJ's was under rated to begin with and you may experience premature sagging over a period of 30-40k miles back to a stock height, they should level out within a 1,000 miles or so keep a tape measure around, measure from center of the rim (between the E's in JEEP) to the lower lip (horizontal section) of the fender flare directly above - it's an imperfect measurement but it will give you an idea of what the coils are doing over a period of time, once settled, they should not continue to creep lower and lower progressively if it does, you're experiencing stock gravity which is unfortunate most important thing, is that you like it, but like i said, you shouldn't have any potential negative situations in the rear, the only note there, is that one of my rear coils seems to have settled 3/8-1/2' more than the other (passenger side) but beyond that, even with a massive amount of weight on the rear of mine I've had no real issues with the jba25's (skyjacker softride 2.5's) on mine |

Just a FYI from experience the soft rides are great if you dont plan on adding pretty much anything else to the KJ. I added a ARB bumper and Winch and the darn front skid plates pretty much scrapped if I hit the brakes to hard. OME 790s (Rev. Mudds advice) are a god send, I wish I would have kept the daystar top plate though, I have the CRD front so im missing about 1/2" |
