If your going for show only... Daystar. Runs about a buck fifty.

The best price is rough country

and you have a full kit for the rear
not a puck

Rough Country's kit's are twice as much as a Daystar. Plus they put a Cleivis spacer in the front, your much better off with a puck.

I do like the rough country rear springs though

I'd much rather have a full suspension lift too. But the OP did say looks and budget...

Post subject:  Re: another lift ?

yes budget is one concern but i do want it to be functional as well... i will most likely be doing a winch bumper and some minor off roading along with towing the dirt bikes out to the trails... also i have to factor in the installation of said lift... i have no issues working on my bikes but not sure about installing a lift.
so are we saying rough country ?

You will find that most people here (myself included) are running Rancho RSX 17505 Front Struts with OME 927 Coils, and Rancho RS 5000 Rear Shcocks with OME 948 Coils. These are essentially the same parts used in the Frankenlift and will give you a true coil lift of 2.5-3".

I had a spacer lift, and from experience I will never buy one again, and instead will pay the extra to do it right the first time. If you are not going to wheel it, and just want the lift for looks, then you can buy a spacer lift. The ride won't be as good, but it will look the same. If you want a good ride, and the ability to abuse it, then pay the extra and do it properly.

Inexpensive
want a bumper

right there you blew out the inexpensive if you plan on a bumper later
Do it right the first time and be done
If you have over 30-35,000 miles the springs are sagging anyways
Plus only cost a couple of hundred more to go the right way

Many people were happy with spacer lifts when their springs were new. But as Tommudd pointed out, the factory springs fail quickly and defeats the spacer lift. The Daystar is a good product, though.

thanks everyone... i am leaning towards the frankin lift II ... my next questions is can it really be installed by a guy who knows nothing about shocks struts etc.??? and or what is the avg cost of having it installed? and does it look stupid with stock tires??? thanks again

If you are going to get the Frankenlift then it is fairly simple to install
Of course you need jacks, jack stands, basic hand tool and one real important thing.....some COMMON SENSE!
You may check in your area to see if someone is nearby that has done one or will help you. I can do them by myself but if you have never done one sometimes you need some help.

But you will have to read through the posts to see what all you need and what works , what doesn't.

What blows the budget (with budget lifts) is the replacement cost of everything else that will break from increased wear. Cheap is expensive.

I am runnign the BDS suspension lift with Rancho's in the front. And i love it. The price was alot cheaper than the OME, and from what i gether, correct me if i am wrong, the spring rates are higher.

at least from what I have found these are correct

But I was wrong once

OME
light 925s are 350
Med 926s are 375
HD 927s are 400

stock OEM CRD springs are 410
OME CRD 790s are 500

Rustys
are 310 front

BDS
fronts are 435
rear 210

Skyjacker rears 230
948 OMEs are 200

Post subject:  Re: another lift ?

the bds front coil for a pair is about 240 bucks, a pair of the 927's is about 160 same with the 790s

ehh..

they're intended to be 2" lifts, but at 435 rate, what is the flare to center wheel measurement without a steel bumper?

my jba2.5's turned into more like a jba 1.75 with 2 extra isos with my cargo and my rear bumper

i actually wish someone made a 300lb rate rear coil with a 2" lift designation
