Post subject:  rear isolatiors?
So, I have the daystar 2.5 coil lift with extended OME132L rear shocks. I'm looking to ditch the rear coil pucks and upgrade to the OME 948 springs.

I've seen discussion here about adding rear isolators to the springs. What are they? Where do you get'em? What do they do? :? The shop I'm going to is somewhat new to liberties, so I want to make sure I can explain what I'm trying to have done.

the isolator is the rubber donut the spring sits on that stays between the spring and its perch. this "isolates" (ehhh ehhhhh) it from the body, preventing noise, rubbing, etc.

there are isolators on the top and bottom of the rear springs.

Sometimes people call them 'spring pads'

thanks for the reply. So, where do I get these things? Do I need them for the top and bottom? I know it is a matter of opinion, but how many are recommended? I see people talking about having "extras".

recommended one total on the bottom, can add two to the top for three total on the top safely

tom's lower coil support is apparently quite weird compared to EVERYONE ELSES

:P

I know there's nothing there to retain more than one lower iso on mine, even with the 3 hockey pucks bolted in there's just no lip to retain more than 1

I think you have to cut part of the very top of the flange on the bottom one to get one to nest on it. they are only 1/2" thick, 2 hockey pucks should be more than enough.

Ran two on the bottom for tons of miles, with hockey pucks and the springs where are they going to go?
Currently though I have two extra "custom" uppers and no extra lowers

i guess it would be safe to say it's much easier to get 3 total ontop to retain during install than it is to get 2 on the bottom lol

okay, so I'm gonna order these parts from moparpartsamerica.com. QTY: 4 for #5 and QTY: 2 for #6 in the diagram. Correct?

Why that many, :?: two on the top most of the time does it to make it level on a Franky, so should be good with the Daystar esp. since it has settled some anyways

I'm ditching the daystar and putting in the OME 948's.

So, I already have 1 on top and 1 on bottom. Ur saying I just need to order 1 more for the top?

If your keeping the front Daystar setup it will more than likely set level after the ome948s are installed due to the fronts have likely sagged.
