Hello. So can anyone tell me how the parking rod linkage should be oriented/positioned? (A pic wouldnt hurt!) My mechanic dropped the tranny to replace the valve body and solenoid pack (for codes p1775 and 1776) and now the jeep doesnt want to move at all. Or rather, doesnt register P or R, and wants to go when reved to 3000 in D, 2, or 1. Best guess is that the parking linkage is in the wrong position--1 out of 4 possible. He thinks the rollers are currently vertical. Should they be horizontal? Which direction should the pointy bits go? Does this sound like a completely unrelated problem? HELP!
This is my daily driver/work vehicle, so time is critical and I really dont want to have to pay him to drop the tranny 3 more times...
Thanks!
-Jay

You may want to download the FSM 's for the year you have. link.viewtopic.php?f=65&t=24650. And look in the transmission section. Hope this help.

Thanks for the quick response. I have the 42rle manual from scribd here, but the pics only seem to show the part I am referring to as a sketch in the background and the orientation is unclear...
