For the last 6 months now my check oil light has been coming on, on my 2002 3.7L occasionally at idle. Because my engine didn't sound like it was going with out and the level was correct i purchased a oil pressure switch and finely put it on this weekend. The old oil pressure switch was starting to leak a little bit. But while i had it off i decided to test my oil pressure. At idle it sits at about 30 psi and when i get it up to 2500RPM it bounces violently from 70-120psi. Does this sounds like a spring on oil pressure relief valve is broken? Any other ideas?
