The other day when I was leaving work I was in kind of a hurry. Mainly because some people don't realize that when a sign says "store hours" that usually means we close at that time and not "feel free to waste everyones time by wondering around for another fifteen minutes". Anyway, gave my 2003 liberty a little bit of gas while leaving. When I released there was a loud clunk and I could feel it jolt the vehicle. It did t once more leaving a red light. Gave it a little gas to get going and let off then the clunk. It hasn't done it since except for once but real light. Don't really know what it is. Figuring maybe ujoints or could be something else.

Any opinions or ideas? And don't mention anything that may be expense. I just don't think I can handle it right now.

Sounds like typical 42rle gremlins to me. Mine does it here and there, and has done it since leaving the factory. Gas it, then back off, there's a clunk and the vehicle bumps a bit, like the transmission wants to follow through with a full acceleration, then realizes that you've back off the gas and unloads all the torque in one, ugly shot.

Trying doing a search here for the term "slip yoke binding" and see if the description matches what is happening.

Mine is currently experiencing this and I just haven't gotten around to dropping the drive shaft and greasing the splines.
