Working on a front-end recovery system for the KJ, I've come to some questions that I don't know the answers to. Perhaps y'all can fill me in:
- I have a warn forged hitch receiver with shackle. It's 3/4" loop cross-section and 7/8" pin diameter and I think is rated at 10k lbs. Is that side overkill for the KJ (realistically)? I know you should use the largest you can find that fits the application, but what do other folks use?

- On the front end, I'm spec-ing some tabs on a recovery/winch frame that'll bolt to a front-towing-receiver-style frame behind the bumper. From my current warn forged thingy, it looks like the pin opening is about 1.5", but I'm not sure. Is that a standard and should the thickness of that match the jaw opening, or just be as thick as possible? 3/4" thick? 7/8"?

- Wanting the strongest tab setup possible, where's a good place to source them (i.e. fabricator parts) that would have enough length to thru-weld or do a nice linear seam weld alone a parallel section of HSS tube?

Dan

i believe orfab, ballistic and poison spyder all have pre-made tabs you can weld on

as for the other questions, i always use 7/8 or 1" pin stuff whenever applicable, if youre in question of the 10k rating, there's 35k stuff in 7/8 or 1" pin ;)

if i remember right my twisted clevis on the back has a 35k working load limit, same clevis' we've used on the IH tractors snatching tree stumps and what not
