Howdy,

I'm going to purchase a Frankenlift PII for a Gasser and JBA 4.5 A-Arms. I have a few general questions about this set-up:

1.) The lift adds 2.5" to my suspension. Will this prematurely wear my CD Joints in the front or perhaps wear my U-joints prematurely on the back?

2.) With just these two kits, will I need any other parts? I keep reading about special bumpstops such as Tera-flex and isolators. Are these necessary? I thought the Frankenlift came with rear bumpstop? Why would I need additional bumpstops? Are the isolators to make front and rear level? Should these be installed right away?

3.) Is it necessary to get an alignment on all 4 wheels or just the front? What is a typical cost for an alignment?

4.) How much will my MPG suffer with this lift kit?

5.) If I add a front winch with winch mount (such as http://detoursusa.com/kjbackbone.php), will I have much front spring sag? Can the Frankenlift PII handle the extra weight?

Thanks Guys in Advance!!

It might wear a little more on them but not enough to worry about... Get greasable U Joints and You'll be fine...

Get hockey pucks for the rear bumpstops, 2 on each side... So 4 total.. Drill a hole in the hockey pucks and spring perch 2 bolts, washers and nuts..... You don't NEED the terflex bumpstops in front..... BUT many do..... including me.... They are cheap insurance.....

3.) Is it necessary to get an alignment on all 4 wheels or just the front? What is a typical cost for an alignment?
Front Only.... And yes you will need to get one.... $60-$110

4.) How much will my MPG suffer with this lift kit?
Lift kit only.... None..... Bigger Tires, etc.... MPG will Vary

5.) If I add a front winch with winch mount (such as http://detoursusa.com/kjbackbone.php), will I have much front spring sag? Can the Frankenlift PII handle the extra weight?
You will be fine with the backbone and a winch..... may sag a little bit but not enough to notice...

Thanks Guys in Advance!!

Good luck....

03CDKJ,

Here's a follow up question to item 2:

2.) With just these two kits, will I need any other parts? I keep reading about special bumpstops such as Tera-flex and isolators. Are these necessary? I thought the Frankenlift came with rear bumpstop? Why would I need additional bumpstops? Are the isolators to make front and rear level? Should these be installed right away?

Do you have a link as to where I can buy these "hocky pucks"? I will going to buy the kits through www.BoulderBars.com. Actually, doesn't Frankenlift PII come with these rear bumpstops per "...Rear OME948 H/D springs, OME132L Rear Long Travel Shocks and pair of rear extended bump stops." ? Do I need additional bumpstops on the rear? For the front, where can I purchase the Tera-flex bumpstops? Do you have a link?

Thanks for your information!

Thank 03CDKJ, he did good, lol. All the correct responses. (Or at Least what I would have said, lol.)

In regards to the rear bump stops, the Frankenlift comes with rear bumpstops that are 1.5 inches tall, for better insurance the hockey puck bumpstop are 2 inches tall. I haven't installed mine yet, but trust me, you need the rear bumpstops.
Here is how to do the hockey puck version. http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43989

With the front bumpstops, I personally recommend them, why tear off your wheel flare for no reason? With the Teraflex & Al's A-arms combination, you have to make a notch in the bumpstop.Image

You can order the front bumpstops straight from Teraflex, http://www.teraflex.biz/products/front- ... jeeps.html ..
I ordered them from Trail Ready, you have to call them to place an order. http://www.trailquest.com/teraflex/KJ/suspension.shtml

Personally, I would add TWO (2) UPPER ISOs to the rear on each side. I added one during the initial install, my front end is noticeably taller with just one extra, and it annoys me. I will be adding another shortly.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but I see it every morning walking to my car.

You can also order them from the dealer, usually takes about a day or two for them to get them.

GOOD LUCK!! 8)

Don't forget to get a extended rear brake line(s) or make a drop bracket for the rear brake line(s).
