So I bought a fishing pole holder for the front bumper mount, and currently it is mounted on my cargo extender due to the liberty front bumper being like a sealed channel, and the plastic cover being ribbed inside kind of.... I couldn't figure out how to mount it and feel comfortable with it not flying off going 65 couple questions, Does anyone know if a bullbar will work with the front tow hooks or will a particular bullbar be sufficient as a recovery point? If I remember correctly, they mount just like the tow hooks.... I can weld, so I was going to weld on to the bullbar, like some flat plate in order to mount the pole holder, I really did not want to weld to the bumper, and I also got a design plan for a front hitch receiver that would suffice for atleast a few 100 pounds, plus able to add the tow hooks.... Anyways, i'm all over the place cause I want my fishing pole holder up front, any ideas or pictures of what you did would be nice! |

you could fab some mounts that mounted along with the stock tow hooks im aware of several bull bars for the kj's but they're mostly for show, and will tear your vehicle up more than they'll save it and aren't rated for any sort of recovery however, they, including the mopar and panda ear brush guards would work fine for mounting a fishing rod holder |

thanks, im considering some flat bar bolted to the bumper, leaving room for the tow hooks, and have a 2" receiver welded to the flat bar which drops down, from there I can get a plate similar to this one: http://www.rodrack.com/product.php?productid=16158&cat=254&page=1 .... or a flat plate welded on to bolt into so I can actually get on the back side and properly tighten down some bolts.... considering it's almost impossible to find a front receiver hitch!! |

4x4kayak2112 wrote: fab up a hitch Yep, that's what I'm doing right now (but not for fishing rods). A couple receiver blocks from Northern tool and some structural steel tube for a crossmember and steel angle to mount to the "frame" rails and some time with the grinder and welder. Dan |
