Are gears worth it ??? i am thinking of getting 4.10 gears to try to get my gas mileage back in line, on a good tank i can get 16 mpg and on a bad tank i am in the 13 to 14 range, have changed all fluids (trans, diffs, xfer case) to synthetics, run frankenlift, 245/75-16 tires, ARB, Winch, Skids. needless to say my jeep is heavy and i am wondering if regearing will save me on mileage (keeping in mind that my jeep is under 35,000 miles) i would like the gears to pay for them selves over the life of the jeep in gains if i get any. does anyone have experience with this change and did you keep track of your gains/loses?

thanks for your time

Robert

If you have an auto, going to 4.10's should return you to near the factory balance. You might not get back all of your original MPG as the weight doesn't disappear, though.

with 4.10 gears and 265/70 R16 or so you'll get
about the same as 3.73 and 235/70 R16

I'm on 4.10 ,regain some MPG
but I did it to regain some power witch is true. I'm running on M/T KM2
