Post subject:  Skid Row Skid Plates opinions & Possible Group Buy

I have a vendor in Charlotte,NC that has offered to do a group buy on Skid Row Skid Plates. My questions are:

1. Who is running them?
B. Do you like them?
9. Would you buy them again?
%. How do they compare to some of the others on the market?

And most importantly.....
!@#. Is anyone interested in a group buy?

JP-4000 - Front Skid $160.00
JP-4001 - Engine Skid $200.00
JP-4002 - Gas Skid $210.00
JP-4003 - Transfer Skid $125.00

I have the Skid Row front skid and like it. I would buy it again. Doesn't seem like bad prices, I got mine shipped for $189.

I'm trying to figure out by the site if you need both the Front Skid and the Engine skid. I need the Transfer Skid and replacing the stock front skid wouldn't be too big of a deal.

You would need the four skids, the front skid, engine skid (which is really the tranny skid), transfer case skid, and the gas tank skid. I like mine, and if you rest the Liberty on the tranny skid while rock crawling you can still bend it, I took mine off and banged it back down. Even though I sell the Skid Row skids, some say the All J skid, being 1/4 thick is a lot stronger. The skid row are 3/8, due to the weight.

Some ask should I keep the plates on all the time, the extra weight burns more gas. As far as I am concerned, you should keep them on all the time. One because they do lower the center of gravity (slightly but enough to make a lifted KJ a little more stable) two, you never really know when the off road opportunity will pop up!

Again I like mine, all my skids have taken some real hard direct hits, and are holding up well.

Hey Al, does the font skid row skid give you a little more clerance up front. I know the factory skid is not exactly the most conforming fit in the front and kind of hangs down a little low. Seems to me from a quick glance that you could get another .75" up front with a more conforming skid.

Little not much, maybe a 1/4 inch or so. It does cover more than the stock 2003(?) and up do. My 2002 factory skid covered the entire bottom. I was under a 2004 and the factory skid was reduced in size, exposing the rt side axle tube.

I already have the factory gas skid, I just didn't have the transmission skid. Need to cover the cats and the space between.

Why would I need another? It's held up fine.

For $65.00 more, the 1/4" All J tranny skid would be worth not having to take off and straighten out a 3/16" skid Row every time you bend it.

from what I have read from owners of the "new and improved" Skid Row plate haven't had the same problems.

Well if you guys are able to get those prices then count me in for the front skid. I just took a look under mine and relized that it dosen't cover all of the front.

I am running the tranny skid from them. It is pretty beefy and didnt require any drilling for my 05 lib. I would get more but I have all the skids now.

I'm interested in the tranny and xfer case skids. those parking blocks at the mall always scare me...

Do the prices include shipping? if not, where in SC are ya, we might have to have a skidplate party

Is there a compatibility issue between the Skid Row front skid and the All J skid? I see the Skid Rows are designed to overlap.

I really dont know. Worst case scenerio is we cut a little of of one or the other to get it to work.

I'm interested, but let me figure out how they might fit together. May not be an issue at all. Thanks.
