Post subject:  Lift advice...
I have been trolling the site for months reading up on goodies for my '06 Liberty Renegade. I am sure this has been asked before and i apologize in advance. I have read varying accounts on which lift is the best route to take and want some honset feedback. I finally, have some extra cash and gonna use it to lift the libby :JEEPIN: . I want to be able to fit at least a 245 65 r16 on the stock rims.

As of now I plan on purchasing the frankenlift prem 2 kit. Additional items will be additional rear isos and 1 or 2 conduit nuts on the front.

Will this set up be feasible? Also does anyone have any issues with this lift plan or have any recommendations? I read somewhere about people having issues constantly ripping boots with the frankenlift any truth or fixes for this? I don't want to dump a ton into it just to have constant problems.

245/65 will be a bit small. With a franky you can easily fit 245/75 on stock rims, and they will fill your wheel wells better. Other than that you've got yourself a good plan and you should have a good lookin ride pretty soon, be sure to post pics 8)

With the franky you don't need the extra clevis lift or at least not for several thousand miles. Going higher may result in the torn boots or from not doing the lift right in the first place.

Doooh. i meant 245 75 16s...



Ok so scratch the clevis lift for now...what about the rear isos?

Would I be better off just piecing everything together instead of purchasing the full kit?

Sorry bout all the questions, like to get all my bases covered before diving into something big.

Need two extra rear iso's per side to level
other than that you are good to go
Well bumpstops front and rear
piecing it together works well.
If you shop around you can sometimes get better pricing although its good sometimes to buy from one source.

the frankenlift offers the best in ruggedness and price, as well as reliability, which is really the most important part of the system. Reliability doesnt mean just that the susp system works like it should, but works with the rest of the vehicle, and does not deteriorate other parts of the vehicle (axles, boots, steering, motormounts and a55, etc). It is not recommended that you do anymore lifting other than the frankenlift, if you just want to get it a little higher for clearance reasons. If you add even one more inch, you can risk ruining your axle CV's and boots.

I didnt check your profile, but if you do a lot of driving/wheeling in steep terrain, then you dont need a high lift. If you like to "mudbog", then perhaps future plans for higher lift is in order. I live in NorCal, in the mountains, and a high lift is a dangerous recipe where I drive. The lower the better, but wheel clearance, added ground clearance, and lowest COV (center of gravity) is optimal.

if you have a ARB bumper with a winch, get the 790 springs....

Piecing the stuff is fine, you dont have to spend $900 for the front setup. Just get the springs and shocks (OME suggested), and do the work yourself. Same as the rears. Lift the front first tho, then level the rear to the front....hth

oh yea, dont forget, you WILL want to "invest" in a set of either Al's A-Arms, or Rockymountain a-arms. Prepare to spend the $$$ for them if you really intend on doing the lift correctly.

You dn't have to invest in a pair of UCAs if you don't right away. I think some have gotten the mindset that one has to go with the other which is not true. I for example ran for 70,000 lifted miles before I INVESTED in a set of Als UCAs and I know several others who did as well.
Its a nice upgrade but not "You WILL have to invest"

Frankenlift ordered tues this week. Should be in sometime next week for a hopeful install next weekend. Next I need some real tires...lol
