Transfercase to front drive shaft removal. This is my first jeep and first vehicle with CV joints. I pulled out all 6 bolts from CV joint at transfercase side. It wont come out. I push and pull and it wont move. I am use to the 4 bolts on a drive shaft, push and pull the sucker come's out. It is still in the air and I need to get it out so I can go to work tomorrow. How do I get this thing out. Thanks |

You have 6 bolts on both ends to remove. Then push it towards the front some pop the rear out then the front, easy 10 minute job |

ok got the front and rear cv joints out of the cups? cant get drive shaft out. lift the rear to make the front clear and rear cv hangs up on speedo braket. lift the front cv and there is no were for rear to slide out, not enough clearance. do i hace to drop exhaust or tranny support? |

Remove the rear first.... push it up and to the right. Then compress the front and slide the driveshaft down and out. Hope this helps... |

I tired that. the rear cv joint goes behind transfercase cable braket and hangs up. if i get it out and down at the nose and back is in the air. i compress the front cv joint and the front cv joint hangs up on a cross support while the rear is hitting under body. may have to drop exhaust ugh. ideas anyone? |
