Post subject:  Driver's Side Diff Bracket Photo Request

Hey guys. I am trying to put in JBA's steel diff on the CRD and it is VERY tight on the oil pan. Since I have done some diff swapping between the V6 and the CRD, it is possible I am retarded and put in the incorrect bracket into each KJ. It's the three-bolt bracket that attaches on the drivers side of the diff.

The V6 one seems to fit fine, but with the new steel diff centered on the CRD oil pan, there is an extra 0.5" between the bracket and the diff.

I've looked everywhere trying to get a picture of this bracket on either the V6 or the CRD to make sure I have the correct one's on. If any one has a photo of this, I would greatly appreciate it.

This project sucks and I may have brain damage.

Thanks,
Rob

I found many photos, but none of the bracket itself. Anyway, I decided to go ahead and shim it. The diff is now centered and seems to be in good shape. I was hoping that the noise on that side was due to the contact between the mounting tabs and the oil pan, but it persists.

Could it be the CV joint? Perhaps the LCA ball joint? I don't really know. We taped a video camera down there and drove around for a while but could see nothing moving where it shouldn't be. I'm out of ideas and ready to drive my Jeep. I figure I'll check it periodically and see if I can find any wear. If it gets worse, I'll be more concerned, for now, time to make a few runs on the new setup before the snow hits in 1-2 weeks.
