So what do people think of Rusty's 2.5" suspension lift? If you have one, or know someone that has, is it a good kit. I didn't want to go with a spacer setup, and this seems to be about the least expensive coil set I could find. It's actually on sale right now for $420. But I'll probably still have to pay someone to do the install.

It just seems like a pretty good deal.

And what else can I get with it to boost it a little more. I hear talk of clevis somethings, and extension thingamajigs.

420 would net you a pretty good chunk of a much better coil lift

hit the search function for Rusty's

for a coil lift that will actually stay lifted, you pretty much have three options
BDS, OME and Skyjacker or JBA, specifically over stock coil ratios it's
bds and ome for the front, and bds ome or skyjacker/jba for the rear

1.5 ome/bds net an average 2.0 , skyjacker rear is advertised as 2.5 and gives about a 2.25

average figures are without steel bumpers or increased rear cargo weight

ride quality and coil life expectancy is drastically higher with those 3 manufacturers versus any stock rate coil regardless of it's proposed lift height

basically, stock rate coils are sub par, most believe stock rate on the KJ's should have been about 100lbs higher from the factory to begin with thus any stock rate lift coil tends to suffer the same ~30k optimal life expectancy and lower ride quality as the stock coils

nothing against rusty's product particularly, it's the coil rate that's a primary concern

What he said :-)r
plus Rustys will sag bad, I installed a Rustys on a local KJ owners and hes actually below stock height now! Been a couple of years but the KJ is not his daily driver either.
Rustys spring rates are the same as stock ( about 310 lb) where as OME Heavy duties which most everyone uses are rated at 400 lbs way better ride etc.
Also his rear shocks are basically junk as well, only thing good he uses is OME front shocks

Take some time and start reading through lift threads tonight, some good reading, you'll learn allot for sure!

Thanks for the input. I'll just save up for an ome. It's going to take a while but sounds worth it. Now it's time for the lighting and roof rack I guess. I don't really need a lift going down the interstate anyway.

I went with a BDS lift after looking at the Rusty's and talking with Rev. Mudd. BDS out of the box installed put me at exactly 2 inches of lift and after 8 months it is still sitting at exactly 2 inches.
