Has anyone installed a cage inside their Liberty? If so would you mind sharing some pics. Or even an exo-cage. Thinking of doing some sort of cage (either an exo or an inside cage). |

If you end up doing an exo, please post pictures. I'd love to see how it turns out. |

I have thought about an inside cage too. After being on this forum a few years now and seeing several of our members roll theirs over though, unless you stand a chance of an extremely violent rollover, the Liberty is an extremely strong platform to begin with. However ..... if you really want to check into it, try Motion Off Road , I talked to them just a couple weeks before Christmas and these are available. They have all the info stored in a computer and if you order one, they just download the info to a computer controlled bender and spit one out!! I may get one of these myself once I finish the current project. |

I haven't seen this done before, but this Spring I plan on having a set of tube doors made for my KJ to use in the Summer. There's a guy would will build me a set for the front, as I'm not specialized in that field. |

Techman: To be honest, that doesn't look right at all. The tube doors will be fine with what I want to do, drive. It will look better and make one, unique KJ. |

Well I don't like it. Anyways, this is sort of what I'm going towards on how to build the doors. ![]() Sorry JKZ for posting my ideas on your thread. Should have started my own thread about it |

I like the idea of an interior cage. The idea of an exo cage is to protect body panels...........not so worried about body panels. Besides most exo cages look like jungle jims However, keeping the family safe is important. |

JKZ, I like the idea of a roll cage as well. More than an exo actually. Maybe when my KJ gets paid off, I'll turn it into a trail rig. It would look sweet with a SFA, roll cage, 33's, tube doors, flat fenders, heavy duty bumpers...can't do any of that now

Although I think I will/would leave some more door material and not remove so much. I have tried tube doors and on veh driven on the street it lets too much debris in. Especially coming home from the trail. |

Yea, sheet metal can be replaced. I barrel rolled my race suzuki sidekick @ 45 mph. Definetly learn the reason the cage is tied to the frame. |

Really don't see the need for 99.9% of us out here unless you just want the bragging rights. Seen several so far that have been rolled several times either on the highway or on a trail ( Towstrap 3 rolls) and none would of benefitted much of anything from an interior cage. IMO Now a CJ/YJ/TJ/JK/XJ yes they need them! |

And i agree with tom about the cages. you CAN NOT build an interior cage that keeps the factory interior functional, that will do much protecting. If you do a roll thats going to collapse it enough to kill you, you are dead with or without the cage. Ive seen vehicles roll a few etimes down hilsl without cages and the damages is pretty nearly the same as with one internally. |

Yeah I can see that. It is kind of worthless but would look pretty cool. Wish I did have a CJ, TJ or YJ |
