 Ok please dont think I am a total idiot...I am in the process of buying a 2005 4x4. It is slightly used and the person who previously owned it put a lift on it (I am buying from a dealership so I have no way to talk to the previous owner). The question is how do I find out what lift kit is on there? I havent really taken a good look at it yet, all I noticed was the the springs up front were red. Please dont make fun...any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
:D ~Bethany

Skyjacker is the only company making a spring lift for the Liberty with red springs. Do the springs in rear match? They should also be red...

Probably a Skyjacker lift if it has red coils.

Yeah, looking at the pictures the rear are red also. Is it a good kit? I think it is brand new...I dont think it has even settled yet. It was sooooo much taller than my '03. Thank you guys for your help.

Yes and no.

Make sure you fab up some bumpstops for the upper a-arms on the front end. They tend to contact the springs pretty hard with that particular lift. If it is one of the more recently produced lifts then hopefully that's all you need to do and it should work well after that.

I was unfortunate enough to buy one of the first Skyjacker lifts ever made. It easily gave me 4" in height and ruined a CV joint. Now I run the Frankenlift. A lot of people have had good luck with the Skyjacker lift of late though. I'm kind of under the impression that they lowered the lift due to some of the problems it was having. Be sure to crawl under the front end and make sure the CV joints are not at extreme angles.
