do you need cross rails to mount the bvg rack on the 05 sport?

I have a BVG rack for my XJ that I installed on my KJ! I had to use the factory crossrails for the install, but it didnt quite fit well! The mounts for my rack accepted round cross rails( 1.5" dia.) and the KJ rails are are flat! I am not sure if BVG even make the correct mounting pads for the KJ or if you can get round roof rails! Haven't seen the setup, but I guess you could try using some u-bolts from the local hardware store.
