I have a very small leak and I think the drain plug is leaking. But I would like to take off the cover and reseal it to make sure it does not leak. But it seems like I read on here that the diff has to come out to take it off. Has anyone taken the cover off while it is still on the jeep? |

I think you can reseat the cover with the diff still on the jeep, you definitely have to remove the cross member though. |

Thanks, It looked like it would be close to the steering rack and I did not want to take a chance that it would not come off without a spending lot of time on it. I decided to just change out the o ring on the drain plug. I will check in a week or so and see if it has leaked at all. |
